Koh Samui Travel Diary

Earlier this year (like earlier March this year) my entire family headed out to Koh Samui for my brother’s wedding. I had never been to Koh Samui before so I was super excited. Aside from the wedding – that was incredible by the way, we had a jam packed itinerary. So I thought I’d share some of my favourites from my Koh Samui travel diary, starting off with our stay at the Le Meridien hotel in Koh Samui.

After 18 hours of flying, we finally landed at Koh Samui airport. We had a private transfer booked with Le Meridien from the airport, which was around a 30 minute drive. Upon arrival to our hotel the driver took a quick right turn into what almost looked like an alley way. This quickly opened up to the entrance at Le Meridien Koh Samui.

Checking in was a simple and exciting process, Abz and I had the Pavilion Pool Villa booked and couldn’t wait to have a look at it. We spent weeks looking at the pictures online so we were excited to see if the villa would meet our expectations. And it really did, we loved every minute of it and was the perfect choice.

The Pavilion Pool Villa came with its own private pool, sun loungers and outdoor seating area. Everything except the bedroom was located outside in a beautiful villa arrangement. The down side was that I got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes, but nothing a bit of mosquito repellent and tiger balm couldn’t fix.

The villa came with a huge bath tub located by the pool, we didn’t use this but it was nice to have. The wash area was really spacious and came with all the expected amenities like shampoo, conditioners, disposable toothbrush, his & hers gowns and towels.

The grounds at the Le Meridien hotel in Koh Samui are breathtaking; it really is a beautiful location and made the perfect backdrop for some unforgettable memories.

Having breakfast on the restaurant balcony was a real treat because this was our gorgeous view. It was so relaxing just to look out at the ocean each morning and take in the picturesque views.

The Le Meridien was a great choice and the perfect start to our Koh Samui travel diary.
